2024 NBA Playoffs Tip Off This Week

The first round of the NBA playoffs begins Saturday after the play-in tournament this week, which will determine the last two playoff seeds in each conference.

As part of the play-in tournament on Tuesday, the Los Angeles Lakers came out on top against the New Orleans Pelicans in the Western Conference and the Sacramento Kings eliminated the Golden State Warriors with a win. The Kings will take on the Pelicans on Friday.

For the Eastern conference, Wednesday will feature two games: the Miami Heat vs. Philadelphia 76ers and the Atlanta Hawks vs. Chicago Bulls, which, on ticketsforless.com, have get-in prices of $54 and $75, respectively. The winner of the Hawks/Bulls games will then play the loser of the Heat/76ers game on Friday.

The first round of the Playoffs will take place on Saturday and Sunday featuring the reigning NBA Finals champion, the Denver Nuggets, on Saturday in prime time. Last year, the Nuggets won the NBA Finals 4-1 over the Miami Heat. The get-in price for the game, which sees the Nuggets play the Lakers, is currently $185 on ticketsforless.com.

That’s over three times more than the get-in price for the matchup between the Cleveland Cavaliers and Orlando Magic and two times more than the $72 get-in price for the game featuring the Minnesota Timberwolves and Phoenix Suns, which is also on Saturday.

While it’s still early in the postseason, you can compare those prices to last year’s Conference Finals, when the ticket prices to games 1-4 exceeded $500.

This year, the Nuggets hold the No. 2 seed in the Western Conference, right behind the Oklahoma City Thunder in the top seed. In the Eastern Conference, the Boston Celtics are the No. 1 seed.

Tonight’s matchups can be viewed on ESPN at 7 and 9:30 p.m. ET.
