NC State, UConn Men and Women Featured in Final Four Together
After two close women’s games on Monday night, Final Four week is finally upon us.
It’s been an intense tournament in both the women’s and men’s sides, and the final three game in each bracket are shaping up to be just as exciting.
On the men’s side, No. 11 seed North Carolina State University locked its spot in the Final Four after knocking out No. 4 seeded Duke in the Elite Eight. It’s the first time the school has made it to the stage in the tournament since 1983.
The Wolfpack’s Cinderella story is taking them to Phoenix, where they’ll face the Purdue Boilermakers, the No. 1 seed in the Midwest division.
On the other side of the men’s bracket, the University of Connecticut, the No. 1 overall seed and defending national champions, will take on No. 4 seeded Alabama, who has never been to the Final Four.
The average ticket sold price to the semifinals on Saturday landed at $697 on Tuesday afternoon.
Monday’s championship between the winners of both games has an average sold price of $470 as of Tuesday afternoon.
For an all session pass to both the semifinals and championship, the average sold ticket price landed at $1,072…
That’s $4 cheaper than the all session pass to the women’s semifinals and championship ($1076).
The women’s Final Four on Friday will see No. 1 Iowa face No. 3 seed UConn and No. 1 overall seed South Carolina take on No. 3 seed NC State.
Between UConn and NC State, there’s two schools that have both their men’s and women’s team in the Final Four. While the Huskies have already won the men’s and women’s brackets together in 2004 and 2014, it’s the first time both NC State teams are headed to the Final Four in the same year.
The average ticket sold price to the semifinals was $602 as of Tuesday afternoon, with the championship landing at $510 – that’s $40 more than the men’s championship.
Prices to the Final Four are significantly higher than the prices were to the Elite Eight for both men and women. The average ticket sold prices to the Elite Eight games were $263 for the men’s and $118 for the women’s.
No matter who fans are rooting for, this weekend’s lineup will be one for the books.
