NBA Finals Between Celtics, Mavericks Tip Off at TD Garden
The 2024 NBA Finals between the Boston Celtics and Dallas Mavericks tips off at 8:30 p.m. ET on Thursday at TD Garden in Boston.
Just months after longtime Mavericks owner Mark Cuban sold a majority stake in the team to Miriam Adelson and her family, reportedly worth an estimated $3.5 billion, the team will compete in the Finals for only the third time in team history. The Mavericks only won one of their two previous appearances.
Meanwhile, the Celtics will work toward capturing a record-breaking 18th championship against their former long-time player, Kyrie Irving. Irving and Mavericks teammate Luka Doncic have combined for an average 51.6 points per game in the Playoffs and were the top-scoring NBA duo in the regular season.
The best-of-seven series will stay in Boston for the first two games, go to Dallas for the next two, and, if necessary, will go back to Boston for Game 5, return to Dallas for Game 6 and end in Boston for the last matchup.
Average ticket prices to the games are increasingly expensive as the series goes on, which means, on average, tickets to the games in Dallas are more expensive.
- Game 1: $1,463
- Game 2: $1,654
- Game 3: $2,022
- Game 4: $2,173
- Game 5: $2,177
- Game 6: $2,197
- Game 7: $2,218
Compare that to the NFL, when the get-in price to Super Bowl LVIII was roughly triple the price of an individual Finals game.
Fans who can’t make it out to Dallas or Boston can tune into the Finals exclusively on ABC.
