NBA Finals Series Conclude With $1,660 Average Ticket Price
One of the NBA’s original eight teams, the Boston Celtics, have set the record for the most NBA titles.
Jayson Tatum and team finished their series against the Dallas Mavericks by winning Game 5, and therefore the best-of-seven series. The championship pushed the Celtics to 18th franchise title, passing the Los Angeles Lakers.
The Celtics hosted the Mavericks at TD Garden for the first two games of the series before heading to Dallas for the next two.
The demand for a ticket to championships for all professional sports has steadily grown over the years as people want to be a part of the action, and the same was true for this series. Overall, the average ticket price to one of the Finals games was $1,660, and the ticket prices to the five games went up as the series went on.
The average ticket prices for the series were:
- Game 1: $1,419
- Game 2: $1,554
- Game 3: $1,615
- Game 4: $1,997
- Game 5: $2,106
Game 5, which had the most expensive average ticket price, ended with a score of 106-88. Finals MVP Jaylen Brown and teammate Jayson Tatum combined for 52 points, 16 rebounds and 17 assists.
The Mavericks’ Kyrie Irving, who had a short stint with Boston a few years ago, finished Game 5 with 15 points after admitting on Sunday that he had trouble playing in his former venue.
The Mavericks won’t be able to redeem themselves until next season, which starts in October.
