Chiefs Ticket Demand Spikes for Home Game 5

Things are looking pretty good for the Kansas City Chiefs this season.

After winning back-to-back Super Bowls, the team led by Patrick Mahomes is undefeated nine games into the regular season – the only NFL team that hasn’t lost a game this season.

Just because Kansas City has become familiar with winning doesn’t mean tickets are in less demand. The team’s most recent game had the highest average ticket price of the Chiefs’ season so far at $468. That’s not a bad deal to see the Chiefs block a field goal against the Denver Broncos for the win.

Looking ahead to the rest of the season, the Chiefs will host their long-time rival, the Las Vegas Raiders, the day after Thanksgiving, followed by the Los Angeles Chargers on Dec. 8 and the Houston Texans on Dec. 21. The average ticket price for the former ($413) is trending relatively in line with last year, but the latter two ($275 and $390, respectively) are trending ahead of the same home games last year.

Black Friday Matchup

While one of the remaining three home games is on a mainstream television network (NBC), the Raiders matchup will air on Prime Video. It’s only the second year the streaming service has the rights for the Black Friday game and the first time the Chiefs will play in the game.

While the rights give Amazon an ample day to advertise its own deals, it’ll be interesting to see if the rights affect the turnout of the game – will people be more likely to attend in person if they don’t already have Prime Video?
