Major League Soccer Returns for 2025 Season

Major League Soccer returns this weekend with the addition of a new team, San Diego FC.

With 30 teams, MLS’ opening weekend will feature 15 games for the first time. The MLS last expanded in 2023 with the addition of St. Louis City. Before then, the league has added one or two teams every year since 2017.

Ticket prices to each game are affordable, but they do range based on the matchup. As of mid-day Wednesday, San Diego FC’s inaugural game against the LA Galaxy, who won the MLS Cup last year, has an average ticket price of $84 – landing around the middle of average ticket prices across the league.

To watch Orlando City SC take on the Philadelphia Union, fans only have to pay the equivalent of a couple of meals. The average ticket price to the game sits at around $28 as of mid-day Wednesday.

On the other hand, the highest average ticket price belongs to the matchup between St. Louis City SC and Colorado Springs at $168.

Those fans not attending the games can catch the action on Apple TV, which began a 10-year, $2.5 billion broadcasting rights to the league in 2023.

The regular season will conclude on Oct. 18, and the postseason will start shortly after.
