MLS’ Post-Season Under Way After NWSL’s Ends

The first round of Major League Soccer’s Audi 2023 MLS Cup Playoffs has officially concluded ahead of the Conference Semifinals on Nov. 25-26.

The playoffs featured a new format with a Round One best-of-three series that guarantees at least one home game for each team, but it didn’t seem to matter. All the teams that won the first game of each series also won their entire series, advancing to the next round. Five teams swept their series, including Sporting Kansas City, who won their Wild Card game and went on to defeat the Western Conference’s No. 1 seed, St. Louis City SC.

The average ticket price to get into the games that have been played so far is $59, with the highest average ticket price at $104 for Game 2 between Atlanta United FC and Columbus Crew.

The four winners of the Conference Semifinals will head to the Conference Finals on Dec. 2-3 before the MLS Cup presented by Audi is played on Dec. 9.

Games can be watched through MLS Season Pass on Apple TV.

NWSL Final

While the men’s post-season is still going on, the NWSL’s recently finished.

The average ticket price reached $114 for the final on Nov. 11 between NJ/NY Gotham FC and the OL Reign at Snapdragon Stadium.

The season ended in a wild finish that included midfielder Nealy Martin having to play goalie for Gotham in the game’s final seconds after Mandy Haught picked up a red card. Gotham still came out on top, winning 2-1 after finishing last in the league last year.
