NFL Returns for 105th Season

The NFL is back.

Thursday marked the official start of the season when the defending Super Bowl champions, the Kansas City Chiefs, hosted the Baltimore Ravens. The Chiefs came out on top, winning 27-20.

Ticket prices trended in line with last year’s season opener, also hosted by the Kansas City Chiefs after a Super Bowl win. Thursday morning, the get-in price sat around $150, down from the $199 it was at two days before.

Thursday started the season, and Friday’s game between the Philadelphia Eagles and Green Bay Packers inks the league’s first foray into South America. Played at Brazil’s Neo Química Arena, the game also marks the first time the NFL has played on the Friday night of opening weekend in over 50 years.

The NFL has been working hard in previous years to expand its international fan base. The league has 38 million fans in Brazil, according to nfl.com.

Aside from Friday, the rest of Opening Week looks familiar.

Sunday will feature 13 games with one more game played Monday between the New York Jets and San Francisco 49ers.

To get in the door to Week One games as of Friday morning, ticket prices range from $29 to $263 on ticketsforless.com, depending on the matchup.
