TFL sponsors the Kansas City Classic: Igniting a New College Football Tradition at Arrowhead
When you work in tickets every day, you get to witness countless big moments. But there’s something special about watching college players take the field in an NFL stadium under the bright lights.
At TFL we’ve spent two decades making live events accessible. We believe the thrill of a showdown shouldn’t be limited to home‑and‑home series. That’s why we’re thrilled to be an official partner and sponsor of the Kansas City Classic, a new college football showcase hosted by Arrowhead Events at GEHA Field at Arrowhead Stadium.
What is the Kansas City Classic?
Arrowhead Stadium isn’t just home to the Chiefs. Since it opened in 1972 it has hosted more than 40 college football games and sits geographically at “the intersection of major college football conferences” . In other words, it’s perfectly positioned to draw fans from the Big Ten, Big 12 and SEC. Arrowhead Events wants to build on that legacy by bringing one or two marquee matchups each year. The 2025 game between the Cincinnati Bearcats and Nebraska Cornhuskers will mark the first edition of the Kansas City Classic and the first meeting between the programs since 1906. The game will kick off at 8 p.m. CT on Thursday, August 28, 2025 and be televised nationally on ESPN. In July 2025, Arrowhead Events announced Battle Sports—an Omaha‑based football equipment company—as the title sponsor.
Arrowhead’s executive vice president Matt Kenny said the game represents an exciting opportunity to establish a marquee college football tradition and to invite fans to experience top‑tier college football at one of the sport’s most iconic venues.
TFL’s role: bringing fans closer to the action
We’re joining Arrowhead Events and Battle Sports to make the Kansas City Classic a reality because we believe fans deserve an easy, transparent way to attend big games. Founded in 2004, TFL is one of North America’s fastest‑growing event distribution companies and the leading Midwest ticket marketplace for sports and entertainment. Our success comes from providing an easy ticket‑buying experience with no service fees at checkout and partnering with teams and rightsholders to maximize revenue and fan engagement. We’ve already teamed up with Arrowhead for events like the Fantasy Football Draft Experience—an annual ticketed event where fans draft their teams from a luxury suite—and we’re proud to expand that partnership to college football.
Why this game matters
The Kansas City Classic isn’t just another neutral‑site game; it’s the start of a new tradition. Arrowhead’s location allows fans from Nebraska, Cincinnati and across the Midwest to gather in a neutral setting that still feels like a home game. The Chiefs’ events arm sees this as an opportunity to create regular matchups that bring together schools from different conferences and to keep Kansas City on the map as a destination for college football. Matt Kenny put it simply: the Battle Sports Kansas City Classic is about building a longstanding college football tradition and delivering world‑class events to fans.
For TFL, partnering on the Kansas City Classic aligns perfectly with our mission to make big moments accessible. By sponsoring this event, we’re helping to bring college football to an NFL stadium without the typical headaches. We’re not here to talk about revenue models—just the excitement of seeing two storied programs battle under the Arrowhead lights. We hope this event becomes an annual fixture that draws fans to Kansas City year after year.
